Footage of Egyptian President Sadat and Prime Minister Begin's separate arrivals to Andrews Air Force Base on September 5, 1978 to attend the Camp David Summit. President Sadat was introduced by Vice-President Mondale upon his arrival. After thanking Vice-President Mondale and Secretary of State Vance, President Sadat provided a few remarks on the challenges of establishing a Middle East peace. Prime Minister Begin was also welcomed by Vice-President Mondale upon his arrival to the United States. Prime Minister Begin describes how this fifth meeting with President Carter and third with President Sadat will be, "the most important, the most momentous of them all."
